Conjunctions terwijl-omdat-als-sinds-toen join a main clause and a subordinating clause together. The word order of a subordinating clause is as follows: -all verbs are placed almost always in the very end -the subject stands directly after the conjunction (terwijl-omdat-als-sinds-toen)

Arguably one of the most challenging aspects of having a conversation in Dutch, especially for native English speakers, is mastering the art of Dutch sentences. Personally, it's my Achilles 'heel, ever so haunting me despite my exhaustive attempts in memorizing all the possible Dutch grammar rules. While I may be able to perfectly recite the rules by heart, the moment I open my mouth, everything basically falls apart.

Dutch Adjectives: To "e" or not to "e".... General Rule 1 : An adjective used before the noun always takes an -e ending (inflection) Bram zit op de zwarte bank. Sinds drie jaren wonen wij in het oude centrum van Utrecht. General Rule 2: If a noun is in the plural form, the -e will be added to the adjective describing the noun; In deze buurt staan veel oude huizen. Ze heeft aardige vrienden, maar toch mist ze haar familie altijd.
